Maryland Senate Bill 1007 (SB 1007), introduced by Senate Minority Leader J.B. Jennings (R) on February 3, that sought to require automobile insurers to authorize repairs using original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts or non-OEM parts that are certified by an independent non-profit entity, has been withdrawn from consideration. According to the Maryland legislature website, the bill received an unfavorable report from the Senate Finance Committee and was withdrawn on Monday, February 20.
