ABPA Opposes Maryland Parts Legislation

On Friday, the Automotive Body Parts Association (ABPA) publicly denounced legislation recently introduced in Maryland that, if passed, would require OEM collision repair parts unless the consumer consents to the use of non-OEM.

ABPA logo “The Automotive Body Parts Association strongly opposes any attempt to curtail the rights of the consumer, to artificially restrict a competitive business environment, and to use legislation to award a virtually monopoly on the parts certification process,” said the ABPA’s Executive Director Edward Salamy. “This legislation favors special interest groups without regard to the negative economic impact it will have on consumers.”
