Wholesale Used Vehicle Prices Continued to Rise in November 2016

Prices up both compared to October and November 2015.

According to ADESA Analytical Services’ monthly analysis of wholesale used vehicle prices, trucks continue to drive overall average wholesale prices upward, while car price softening more directly reflects supply growth for the used vehicle market in general.

Lower used vehicle prices increase pressure on the number of total losses impacting the collision repair industry, while rising prices allow for more collision repair work to be performed prior to a vehicle being declared a total loss.

A new threat to used vehicle prices seems to be arising from increased new vehicle incentives,
