NADA Forecasts Slight Decline in U.S. New Vehicles Sales to 17.1 Million in 2017

Steven Szakaly, chief economist of the National Automobile Dealers Association, is predicting sales of 17.1 million new cars and light trucks in 2017, a 1.7 percent decline from projected 2016 sales. With less than two months left in the year, new-vehicle sales are forecast to reach 17.4 million, which would be a slight decline from the all-time record set last year.
