European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs Calls for Equal Access to Vehicle Data

Organization concerned vehicle manufacturers will control access to real-time vehicle data to limit competition in the aftermarket for repairs and services. Calls for legislation to assure security and access to benefit consumers through competition.

The European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs (CECRA), the federation representing 24 national automotive professional associations representing vehicles sales and repair businesses and 12 European Dealer Councils, is calling for car dealers and repairers to have equal access to vehicle generated data and telematics to assure consumers will benefit from competition.
