September 20, 2016 By CollisionWeek Editor

ABRA, Boyd, Caliber and Service King continue growth in new locations during 2015. Unit growth slows in 2016.

While the rate of acquisitions and new collision repair facility openings by the four large multiple collision repair shop operators (MSOs) in North America has slowed somewhat so far in 2016 compared to previous years, the Big 4 have grown by over 170 locations through early September. As of CollisionWeek’s count on September 8, 2016, the Big 4 had 1490 facilities combined, an increase of 172 year-to-date, an increase of 13.1 percent overall.
