With the rate of growth in vehicle miles traveled slowing, one region reported lower traffic volume in May versus 2015.
Travel for the month of May is estimated at 279.4 billion vehicle miles nationwide according to the most recent data released by the Federal Highway Administration. The May result continues the very positive trend leading to the growth in auto physical damage insurance claims and collision repair industry volume.
May’s traffic volume represents an increase of 2.0 percent, or 5.5 billion vehicle miles, compared to May 2015. May’s percentage increase in driving is down from the 2.6 percent, or 6.8
