Body Repair Prices, Auto Insurance and Inflation

Auto body repair prices in June up more than two percent compared to year ago. Auto insurance prices were up 6.5 percent during the same period.

The most recent government figures on inflation through June 2016 indicate the rate of growth of auto body repair prices has increased slightly during the first half of 2016 after relatively slow growth in 2015. However, both the price of auto insurance and body repair have continued to increase above the rate of overall inflation during the past twelve months- due primarily to declining energy prices impact on broader inflation.
