ABPA Opposes Michigan Bill Restricting Non-OEM Parts

The Automotive Body Parts Association (ABPA), that represents aftermarket collision repair parts manufacturers and distributors, is opposed Michigan House Bill 4344 and the restrictions it would place on non-OEM parts used in collision repair.

As CollisionWeek reported Wednesday, HB 4344, that recently passed the in the state Senate, would require non-OEM parts to have their quality independently verified by the Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA), NSF International or another nationally recognized testing agency for a list of major components including common components such as fenders, doors and hoods.
