Legislation that restricts insurers from requiring non-OEM parts for vehicle placed in service within past two years. ASA-supported legislation also restricts use on lease vehicles if they could impact residual values.
The New Hampshire House of Representatives approved Senate Bill 436 (SB 436) yesterday that requires insurance companies to disclose when then they specify non-OEM parts during the estimating process and restricts the use of those parts during the first two years following when a vehicle is placed in service and that have been driven fewer than 30,000 miles.
The New Hampshire Senate had previously approved the bill in March.
