The Delaware Department of Insurance published revised regulations allowing the use of photos to prepare an appraisal of auto physical damage.
On Sunday, May 1, the Delaware Department of Insurance published in the state’s Register of Regulations revisions to its Regulation 602 governing Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraisers that would allow the use of photographs to prepare an estimate.
Prior to the amendment, Section 4 of Regulation 602 stated, “No appraiser shall secure or use repair estimates that have been obtained by the use of photographs, telephone calls or in any manner other than a personal inspection.”
