The latest available data from the U.S. Census Bureau County Business Patterns annual research series covering 2014 shows that the number of independent collision repair facilities with payroll increased slightly for the third year in a row in 2014, up 39 establishments versus 2013. In 2013, the BLS reported that the number of independent shops with payroll increased by just seven establishments compared to 2012.
