Louisiana House Bill 559, introduced by Representative Vincent Pierre, seeks to amend Chapter 41 of Title 51 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes to regulate the use of non-OEM safety parts. The bill defines safety parts as any components used in the anti-lock braking systems or airbag restraint systems.
Among numerous edits to Louisiana’s non-OEM parts disclosure laws, the bill proposes to amend §2424 of Chapter 41 by adding a provision stating:
No insurer shall require or authorize
